Moor Mother & Dudù Kouate
Camae Ayewa, better known as Moor Mother hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a poet, musician and activist. Besides being one half of the collective Black Quantum futurism, she co-leads the group Irreversible Entganglements and is an active assistant professor at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music.
As her creativity knows little boundaries she often collaborates with other musicians / activists. Such is the case here.
Presenting a premiere for The Netherlands as a unique ensemble with Dudù Kouate.
Dudù was born in Dakar, Senegal to a family of Griots, the custodians of the word and musical tradition of west Africa. He is a multi faceted musician using 200 instruments taking you on a trip to the roots of the earth. He is a member of the historic art ensemble of Chicago.
No wonder these artists found each other and resonated deeply within themselves and with the audience.
